Speed Skating Canada is raising awareness about three external funding opportunities for athletes and alumni of our sport. Read on to find out if you are eligible for funding.
Beatrice Noble Memorial Speed Skating Scholarship
Three $1,000 USD scholarships (to cover expenses associated with participation in the sport) awarded to speed skaters aged 18 and under in the US and Canada who are living with a chronic medical condition. Last year, two of the three recipients were Canadian athletes!

OLY Canada Legacy Grant Program
A pilot program created by the Canadian Olympic Committee that will award five $5,000 grants to retired Olympians leading a not-for-profit project in their community (examples include sport camps and clinics, mentoring, school visits, podcasts, etc.).

Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund
A sport studies scholarship (two $2,000 grants) intended to stimulate thoughtful examination of values-based and ethical sport. Eligible recipients include high-performance athletes enrolled at a Canadian university who are interested in completing a project or study in sport values and ethics.
