
Speed Skating NWT believes it is very important to support community Clubs and athletes. As such, they support developmental and competitive athletes to attend the annual NWT Championships as well as competitions in southern Canada by offering administrative support as well as some financial support through its Travel Funding Policy.
Sport North Federation’s Rising Star Program is intended to provide athletes with financial assistance to participate in sport specific summer camps which contribute to their learning and development.


The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs’ High Performance Athlete Grant provides funding for high performance athletes from the NWT to assist with the costs associated with training and competing in their chosen sport.
The Mackenzie Recreation Association provides funding opportunities for regional or community recreation events as well as for individual athletes’ registration fees, transportation, and accommodation costs associated with sport and recreation programs and events.


KidSportâ„¢ believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sport. KidSportâ„¢ provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. Grants up to $500.00 are available per child (18 years old and younger) per year and can be used to assist with sport registration fees and equipment.
