Speed Skating NWT believes it is very important to support our NWT coaches and officials. As such, they support coaches and officials attending training courses as well traveling to competitions in southern Canada by offering administrative support as well as some financial support through its Travel Funding Policy.
Sport North offers the They Can Coach Grant and the She Can Coach Grant to support NWT coaches in attending customized professional development and education opportunities that will enhance their skills and abilities.
The Indigenous Sports Circle NWT provides both funding and professional development opportunities. The Indigenous Coaching Development Program has been designed to help Territorial Sport Organizations fund, mentor, identify, and develop Indigenous coaches from communities across the NWT.
The Mackenzie Recreation Association provides funding opportunities for individual coaches and officials’ registration fees, transportation, and accommodation costs associated with capacity-building initiatives.
Speed Skating Canada offers official development bursaries to support experiences that contribute to development and considerations for upgrades.
